Things to Look Forward to on your Next Trip to Praslin – Amazing Experiences

Stunning Praslin has some of the best locations in Seychelles; apart for the remarkable beaches, one has a wealth of attractions such as UNESCO World Heritage Sites to explore. Read on and be amazed.

1

Stroll through Vallee de Mai

Start off with a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a lush forest that in most instances are described as a primaeval location, the Vallee de Mai on Praslin is home to over 4,000 coco de mai palms that are endemic to the country. But walking under these huge 'fans' is not the only thrill; the wildlife is pretty amazing and you will find yourself enchanted by the call of the bulbul while keeping an eye out for the exotic and rare black parrot.

2

Explore Anse Lazio

A short 19 minute drive from Berjaya Praslin Seychelles Resort is the beautiful beach of Anse Lazio. Tipped to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world this haven is ideal if you are in the mood for a tranquil day by the sea. Free from touristy crowds the sun bleached white sand beach is enhanced by the azure blue waters of the ocean. There you can lie under the shade of the takamaka and palm trees and do nothing all day. Framed by granite boulders the beach offers some good snorkelling experiences around the rocky bay while a charming beachside restaurant makes sure the foodie in you is well looked after.

3

How About an Ice Cream Treat?

The best thing about the tropics is you have plenty of excuses to indulge in ice cream treats! The Gelateria de Luca is the islands premier ice cream parlour and promises to entice your taste-buds with exotic flavours. A coppa tropicale comes highly recommended together with a host of other heavenly flavours. If you are left impressed with these flavours do check out the restaurant's selection of lunchtime snacks and the gourmet dinner menu as well.

4

Discover the Giant Tortoise Farm

Head over to Curieuse a sanctuary to the giant Aldabra tortoise and one of Seychelles most popular wildlife reserves. On arrival you will be shown around the reserve by a warden; after this, you may self-explore the rest of the island Curieuse is based on. Only visits on organised boat tours are permitted. You can do so easily via the tour desk of any top hotel Praslin Seychelles is home to; best of all the cost of the boat tour includes entry to the tortoise farm.

5

Buy Wooden Crafts

At the entrance to Vallee de Mai is Kreolor; a lovely little handicraft shop that sells a range of products. These include wooden handicrafts, jewellery and number of handcrafted souvenir items. The best stop for all your gifts and mementoes.

6

Enjoy a Picnic in Seclusion

There are plenty of sheltered little beach spots on Anse La Blague for you to enjoy a quiet picnic. An isolated stretch of beach this one is off the radar and unknown to many. As such there aren't many facilities except for the shady takamaka trees that do provide you with a place to hang your towels on, but then that is all you need for a pleasant day of utter bliss and relaxation.
