04 Famous Beaches in Uluwatu – Experience the Exotic

Uluwatu is a surfer's paradise; home to one of Bali's main iconic temples, towering sea cliffs and hidden sandy beaches accessed via caves. Read on and explore the four best beaches in this region.

1

Padang Padang Beach

Padang Padang is a kind of 'celebrity' beach that was featured in the Hollywood movie – Eat Pray Love. The place is hidden away not too far from iconic Uluwatu Temple and is just 10 minutes from Pecatu Village. Entrance to the beach is through a mystical limestone cave, and as you emerge from there, lashings of sunshine greet you as your feet sink into the soft sand. The beach is framed by verdant sea cliffs with Pura Luhur or Uluwatu Temple perched atop one that is 250 feet high. There are plenty of resorts that sit at the top of these cliffs and like Alila Villas Uluwatu Bali some boast vistas of the ocean from a height of 100 feet.

2

Blue Point - Suluban Beach

Blue Point is located in close proximity to Uluwatu Temple and Padang Padang Beach; locally the place is called 'Suluban' which translates to walking through something. This name was coined due to the fact that one needs to walk through a coral reef cave to get to the beach. You are greeted by an amazing white sand beach and view of the Indian Ocean that is simply stunning; the kind of view you would expect from a Bali luxury villa Uluwatu is renowned for. Do make it in time for the stunning sunset and you will have memories to last a lifetime.

3

Dreamland Beach

This beach is located in Pecatu Graha; it is surrounded by many luxuries such as world class resorts and the New Kuta Golf Course. The place is very popular amongst tourist for its attractions of games, sports and loads of fun in the sun. Dreamland Beach is also popular for its excellent breaks; look forward to big and powerful waves that are a treat to tackle. The waves are best left to the professionals while the beach is highly conducive for family gatherings. Look forward to a day of relaxation and doing absolutely nothing.

4

Balangan Beach

A white sandy strip that's 200 metres long Balangan Beach promises one the most amazing sunset and enchanting surroundings. Vistas of the Indian Ocean are truly amazing from this beach while the huge waves manage to lure a number of professional surfers. The beach sits on the Uluwatu Peninsula and is located in the rocky hill area of Pecatu which is to the south of Bali. This beach is one of Bali's most famous surf points that attracts both local and international surfers.
