The rapidly developing city of Dubai boasts of luxury with a thirst for breaking world records and being the best in the world. Here are some stunning manmade wonders in the city.

The Palm Islands

The Palm Islands literally take the shape of a giant palm tree. They make up the largest artificial islands in the world and are considered to be the eighth wonder of the world. The Palm Islands comprise of Palm Deira, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Jumeirah. Restaurants, beach side homes, hotels such as Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, marinas, water parks such as Aquaventure and other entertainment centres can be found on these islands.

The World Islands

The World Islands are a collection of 300 manmade islands which take the shape of the world map. Each island is for sale, so if you're interested in buying your very own "country", here's the best place to do it!

Dubai Miracle Garden

Imagine a beautiful garden covered in an abundant variety of flowers in the middle of the desert?! This garden is truly a miracle! It's the world's largest natural flower garden covering an area of 72,000 sq meter, with over 45 million flowers. All of which have been shaped in to forms of hearts, pyramids, igloos, stars, arc shaped walkways, etc. Each of these structured flower shapes will change with the season. The gardens are also known to have the world's biggest flower clock – which was featured in the Guinness Book of Records. The gardens also hope to set the record for the largest pyramid and the longest wall of flowers.

Dubai Aquarium

The Dubai Aquarium is the largest indoor underwater zoo in the world. Pretty amazing huh?! The best part is that this aquarium is located in the middle of Dubai Mall! With over 33,000 marine animals including rays and sharks, this 48 meter tank even features a walk through tunnel. Visitors can experience a glass bottom boat ride, cage snorkelling and shark dives.

Ski Dubai

To add to the list of amazing manmade wonders in the desert city, Ski Dubai is the largest, and the only ski park in the Middle East. Covering an area of 22,500 sq meters, Ski Dubai is an incredible way to beat the 50 degree heat of the desert sun and play in sub zero temperatures! Ski down the slope or simply engage in some fun ice games!

Dubai Fountain

Another addition to the "largest" wonder in the world, the Dubai Fountain takes the cake for the largest dancing fountain in the world. Covering an area of 275 meters in length, this fountain is illuminated by 25 colour projectors and 6,600 lights that create a spectacular rhythmic colour and light performance. The water fountain is known to spray 83,000 litres of water in to the air while dancing to the tunes of Arabic, classical and world music. It's one of the most breath taking and beautiful things to witness while you're in Dubai.

Burj Khalifa

The tallest tower in the world, as we all know; is the Burj Khalifa. This structural masterpiece stands majestically over the bustling city of Dubai, at a height of 828 meters. The tower has the highest swimming pool, highest mosque and the highest viewing platform and also includes residences, office spaces and restaurants.
