The Global Village brings the world together in Dubai with popular cultural attractions, loads of family entertainment, and unique shopping experiences. It houses close to 30 pavilions that represent 75 countries and diverse cultures. Each pavilion showcasing a country’s merchandise, cuisines, and handicrafts. There are a variety of dining options from the diverse cuisines coupled with thrilling rides for the kids at the Fantasy Island.
. This season of the Global Village this year is expected to be more dazzling, glamorous, and bigger than ever before with an extended list of attractions, entertainment, concerts, and much more. The Global Village has finally settled on Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road Exit 37 since 2005 after trying out a few locations since its inception. The Guests can enjoy the live performances, authentic crafts and merchandise, stunning new rides, and delicious international cuisines from its diverse pavilions. The Global Village operates for all 7 days in a week and the gates are open for the visitors and guests on Saturday to Wednesday from 4 pm – 12 am and on Thursday, Fridays, and Public Holidays from 4 pm – 1 am.
It is recommended that you reach the Global Village early before 4 pm. carry some warm clothes to shield yourself against the cold weather in the late evenings. Carrying a sturdy shopping bag would be a smart move as you will not be able to control yourself seeing the fine and incredible variety available at your disposal for both the local and international brands.

For starters, we would suggest you visit the pavilions that represent countries from the Middle-eastern region like Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, and Africa. If you still need loads of time exploring the biggest pavilion of all featuring India.
The Global Village has a core team of 50 members and during the season the number of people employed goes up to 10,000. There were 92 nationalities who were employed during the last season with 70% of them coming from outside the UAE and the remaining being locals. This shopping extravaganza plays host to more than 12,000 shows, featuring 3,500 shopping outlets, 25+ restaurants serving international cuisine, and 150 kiosks showcasing art & craft, and handicrafts. Hop on to the traditional abra boat ride across the village lake or catch the mini-train which runs through the village for a pleasant experience.
Some of them are the antique Oceanarium that replicates the underwater world 200 years back using 3D technology, Al Remal Pit that houses huge sand sculptures, Illumination World where major international landmarks are illuminated with lanterns and LED lights, AlMeydan, 7D Cinema, the 3D Haunted House, Heritage Village that showcases the traditional Bedouin life around a campfire site, Escape Hunt, Mini City, and the Animal Land that houses moving sculptures of animals. There are special attractions for the little ones like the Children Kingdom, where a professionally trained & specialize in handling children takes care of the kids while you explore this grand extravaganza. Give your children their fair share of fun and entertainment by allowing them to indulge in different types of activities and events.
The Fantasy Funfair ground focusses on the wooing families and the adventure junkies. Participate in the thrilling rides with fares starting from Dh 10 and above. Come and experience the wonderful world around you from November 1st, 2017 till April 7th, 2018. Even though the Global Village started as a part of the DSF, the Global Village has emerged out of its shadow and become an institution in Dubai in its own right. There are rumors that the organizers are looking forward to expanding the Global Village globally.
