Undoubtedly the most popular shopping hotspot in town, Krabi Town Walking Street provides a fun place to both shop and soak up some local culture. Well worth visiting be you staying at a budget guesthouse or a luxury hotel in Krabi, this night market takes place from Friday to Sunday from 5 pm to 10 pm. This particular market attracts local artisans who showcase their unique creations giving shoppers a chance to purchase some distinctive souvenirs and keepsakes of their trip. Of course, an integral part of the Krabi Town Walking Street is the exotic and eclectic array of street food on offer; everything from steamed crab to grilled meats can be enjoyed before, during and after a bit of shopping.
A place you need to get to early in the morning, the Maharaj Market is located on Soi 7 in downtown Krabi. The activities here start in the hours before sunrise and the two hangers which host this market soon become alive with plenty of hustle and bustle. Fresh produce can be found in abundance here in vegetables and fruits but that is not all; the market is also a popular place to purchase spices, rice, fresh meats and seafood and even flowers. You also get stalls selling delectable local dishes and other Thai food so you can plan to have your breakfast there after all that shopping and picture taking!
The Vogue Department Store is the place to go to if you are after some branded items. Home to its own supermarket this three-storey shopping hub in Krabi Town also has a basement level shopping plaza; here you will find super bargain prices on all manner of items be it electronics, mobile phone accessories, clothes and toys. Of course for branded clothing head to the second and third floors where names such as Arrow, Levi's, Elle and Adidas can be found. There are plenty of dining options too including a food court and fast food chains. Even if you are based at other accommodation options in the region such as Anantara Si Kao Resort you can plan a day's excursion to Krabi Town and enjoy some retail therapy at Vogue Department Store.
Located in Downtown Krabi the Fresh market or "Talad Sod" is located off Maharaj Road on Soi 10. While it is similar to the Maharaj Market it is smaller in scale and offers a fascinating market experience. Fresh flowers and fruits are amongst the items sold along with reasonably priced clothing, toys and accessories. It goes without saying that at such markets there is plenty of yummy street food too!
The highway that connects the town with Krabi Airport is home to three popular supermarkets where you can get in some shopping as well. Tesco Lotus and Big C each offer a wide range of goods from electronics to food, while branded clothing and sportswear can be found at Outlet Village Krabi.
