Dalgety Public House, Teneriffe

The latest addition to the Teneriffe Woolstore precinct, The Dalgety Public House is all set to be one of the city's hottest gastro pubs. Some of the popularity is owing to the fact that its located smack bang in the city just minutes away from shopping malls like the Emporium, entertainment venues like Palace Centro and Brisbane CBD hotels the likes of Oaks Lexicon Apartments so it's a favourite among the tourists as well. The theme here is centred on inclusiveness, as it features large communal tables where people can come together and share their stories, good food, and amazing cocktails. The menu consists of simple and modern Australian pub meals that include the likes of grass-fed steak, pulled pork and lamb racks.

The Boatshed, Toowong

If you're craving for some juicy, grilled ribs that can be washed down with a glass of fine wine, head over to the Boatshed in Toowong. The restaurant's got this relaxed and stylish interior but nothing comes close to the awesome centrepiece which is a two-metre long flame grill. Choose a bottle of something delicious from their wine cellar to pair with their famous dry and wet-aged steaks.

Dedicated in honour of Australia's first brewer James Squire, the Charming Squire pub in South Brisbane is simply charming! It's got this really cool history-inspired interior decoration, timber furnishings and high ceilings. Since it's just a mere few minutes away from the Brisbane Entertainment and Convention Centre; you find a lot of concert and event goers here. The pub is also used as an event venue itself due to the large spaces it provides. One of the reasons it's so popular is that it has this great feature of teaching patrons about the special brewing process and find out about the unique flavours that makes James Squire beer so different from others.

You don't need to feel guilty about cheating on your diet at The Guilty Rogue for who can resist those juicy Black Angus eyes, the mouth-watering 'Innocent Verdict' pizza or the homemade red wine sausages! Set in George Street, the pub is named after the convict heritage of Brisbane City. Everything from the decor to the menu carries inspiration from the city's convict beginnings and the ghosts of rogues and rascals who founded it.
