Besides lying on the sand all day, here are some 5 extremely fun and adventurous things you could to make your holiday in Turks and Caicos one to never forget!

1

Scuba diving

As the waters around the islands are teeming with marine creatures, it's no surprise that scuba diving will be one of the best activities you could do while on holiday in Turks and Caicos. Luxury resort options usually offer scuba diving excursions for their guests and if you're seriously considering scuba diving, make sure you do it with a trusted organization. There are a number of PADI licensed diving institutes to choose from. Popular dive spots include Grace Bay, West Caicos, Salt Cay, Grand Turk, French Cay and North West Point. While diving in the beautiful and clear waters, you'll be able to explore the underwater world while meeting whale sharks, reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, spotted eagle rays, dolphins, horse-eyed jacks and plenty of tropical fish and marine life that thrives here. If you're travelling from January to March, you'll be lucky enough to spot humpback whales during your diving expedition. The waters are so clear there 80 – 130 feet of visibility – imagine that!

2

Biking

Biking around an entire island is not only a fun experience where you can usually gloat to your friends back home but it is also a great way to explore the island. If you're staying at a hotel or resort in Parrot Cay, properties such as COMO Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos offer a bike tour of North Caicos with a guide! A bike tour of North Caicos is definitely recommended as it is known as the 'green island' and offers a variety of beautiful sights to explore, such as Cottage Pond and Wade's Green Plantation.

3

Kayaking / Stand up Paddle boarding

Kayaking or Stand up Paddle boarding is a fun and relaxing activity to partake in when you're on holiday and when doing this through the calm waters around Turks and Caicos is truly an enriching experience! Explore the mangroves during your excursion and discover the rich wildlife and flourishing number of plants that thrive in the area. Check whether your hotel offers a kayaking or Stand up Paddle boarding tour if you're interested in exploring the islands at a slow pace.

4

Whale watching

If you're not licensed to scuba dive but still want to spot some whales during your holiday, then join a whale watching tour – offered by many hotels and resorts on the islands of Turks and Caicos. From January to April, the Colombus Passage is the best place to watch humpback whales making their way during their annual migration. The Colombus Passage is a 7000-foot trench between the Turks and Caicos Islands.

5

Sail

Sail the seven seas like Jack Sparrow on a private yacht or boat! Once you find the perfect spot to stop, jump into the enticing waters for a much-needed swim! You can even try snorkelling, but remember not to disturb any marine life!
