Walk along the Nine Arch Bridge

Famous on Google Images this bridge is a renowned landmark. But in all essence the Nine Arch Bridge of Ella is an undiscovered attraction where one can enjoy peace and solitude. Walk along the 99 foot high bridge along which the railway line runs, the guard lets you do so provided its safe. Stop over at the Nine Arch Café for a cup of tea and bite to eat where you can savour the lush surroundings and maybe even walk through the Ella tunnel.

Climb Little Adams Peak

A far cry from the original Adams Peak, Little Adams Peak will not disappoint. Located not too far from your accommodation in Ella; it takes less than an hour for one to reach the summit from which you are rewarded with stunning views of the surroundings. Ideal for spending some time in quiet solitude the hike up this little hill is well worth the effort.

Enjoy the View from Lipton's Seat

There are 2 ways of getting to Lipton's Seat; one hire a bike and enjoy the ride up to the summit of a tea bush covered mountain or take the train from Haputale and hike or take a tuk the rest of the way. The place is where Thomas Lipton back in 1890 started off what is today a lucrative tea manufacturing empire in the country. The view from this point is absolutely stunning. As you can see Ella has many points of interest and before going further it must be noted that finding budget friendly, conveniently located accommodation in and around the area is a boost to your travels. Walking around Lipton's Seat one is rewarded with sights of tea bushes that swirl and form varied shapes across the hills. Visit Ravana Waterfalls

Just 6kms from Ella the gigantic Ravana Falls is an impressive sight. Falling 25 metres in three tiers from the mountain tops the falls flow from beneath a bridge on the main road. A very popular attraction the falls are especially beautiful during the rainy season.
