Pregnancy Test App

Pregnancy Test App

The cost of an at-home pregnancy test range between $10-$30, and racks up millions of dollars each year thus making it the most popular home diagnostic test available. But rather than having to go to the store to pick-up a kit for such a private affair, imagine if women could download an application to their phone that can accurately confirm pregnancy. By using the SPM scanner embedded within the phone’s camera lens, women could detect a pregnancy as easy as snapping a photo to analyze hormone levels in their urine. But SPM technology could also work for other diagnostic tests to determine alcohol or drug intake, paternity and some diseases including skin cancer or sexually transmitted diseases.

Secure Travel App

Secure Travel App

An app using SPM technology could dramatically change the way we travel. Like a scene pulled from the Minority Report, your phone could be your boarding pass and passport all-in-one only to be unlocked when your face is scanned using the SPM scanner on your phone’s camera. As you then go to board the plane, a SPM scanner would be present at the gate and could not only confirm your identify but also detect explosive materials or drugs that have tainted your skin or clothes. Sure airlines the FAA would need to be on board, but this could mean that TSA pat-downs and intrusive x-ray machines will be a thing of the past.

National Children’s ID App

National Children’s ID App

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, nearly 800,000 children under the age of 18 years old go missing each year and current ID kits for children often requires a science lab to interpret DNA and fingerprint information. But with SPM technology, parents could simply scan their children’s eyes with their camera phone to capture unique color-data in addition to DNA and fingerprint information. If in an unfortunate event that the child goes missing, the information could then be uploaded to a national database accessible by schools, police and fire departments and airports that can embed scanners in public buildings or on proprietary devices.

Invisible ID Tag

Invisible ID Tag

These invisible barcodes and tags could complement and even replace traditional barcodes on anything from shipping containers to expensive jewelry or art. Being invisible, these tags would not detract from the item, yet can make it more difficult for thieves to detect or tamper with it. Once the invisible barcode is strategically placed on an item, it can be personalized using a mobile app and a handheld device using SPM technology. Every time the invisible barcode is scanned using the mobile app, the owner could receive updates include the person’s name and phone number, or their GPS-location.

Safe-To-Eat App

Safe-To-Eat App

About 48 million people (1 in 6 Americans) get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die each year from foodborne diseases, according to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has implemented strict practices to help prevent contaminated food from reaching our dinner plate, but even so, it hasn’t entirely rid the possibilities of E.coli or Salmonella. Mobile apps of the future using SPM technology can bring the science lab to the kitchen or store isles, and immediately detect tainted foods and meats by examining traits of more than 31 know pathogens. Similar to capturing a photo, a person or store worker could scan a food item and immediately know if it is safe-to-eat.

The Sky App

The Sky App

The color of invisible particles could tell us more about the weather. What if the future weather app could tell us more than temperate and expected forecast, and tell us if it will likely rain within the next our or if the sun will break through the clouds? A future app using SPM technology may examine the color of the sky beyond what we can actually see to tell us more detailed weather reports, and more accurately warn of us of tornadoes. In the future, to determine the likelihood of a tornado may be a simple as picking up a phone and pointing it to the sky.

Fake Made App

Fake Made App

The perfect Prada or Birkin bag or the splendid pair of Laboutin pumps at an unbelievable price may just be too good to be true. With SPM technology on your smart phone you could know for sure if that bargain in the foreign market or on the streets of New York is the real thing or a picture perfect knock-off. Counterfeiting of branded products is multi-billion dollar global problem. Interestingly, manufacturers are not as concerned as consumers as the pirated brand product extends brand awareness with no marketing cost to the producer. As a consumer, you don’t want to pay good money for the fake! SPM technology can stop counterfeiters in their tracks.
