Explore the Architectural Wonders of the Brief Gardens

The Brief Gardens are located about eight kilometres from the resort town of Bentota which is 40 minute drive for guests at Anantara Kalutara Resort. An ode to Bevis Bawa Sri Lanka's prominent architect and landscape artists these gardens which were part of the artists home, comprise of enchanting vistas to explore. There is the Japanese style garden that draws inspiration from colonial days while carefully designed little nooks, alcoves and sculptures lend an ethereal quality to the entire area. Sri Kalyanarama Maha Viharaya

Located about 20kms from Kalutara in Kaluwamodera this temple is most famous for its marble statue of the Lord Buddha. It is believed the statue which is six feet tall was brought over from Burma over a 100 years ago.
