Must take pictures when in Maldives – Things to Remember When Taking Pictures in the Maldives

It would be a massive shame to embark on a journey to the beautiful Maldives islands and not take any pictures of yours surrounded by turquoise waters and powdery sands, so here are some tips.

1

Use a Polarizing Filter

This is due to the same reason one wouldn't wish to take on hot sunny climates without a pair of sunglasses. A polarizing filter cuts out all the glare and light reflections that will occur when the sunlight hits the water. By using a polarizing filter you can capture the colours of the water and the surroundings in their natural state, which will result in photos of superior quality. It will also prove to be a better memory since you can observe the scenery in the picture exactly as they were when you saw them yourself.

2

Add a Lot of Foreground

When taking pictures, be sure to take them in a way where they scream Maldives. If you're staying in one of the iconic Maldives luxury hotels such as the Adaaran Club Rannalhi, you should be sure to have cabanas or over-water villas in the foreground to create dynamic and engaging pictures. After all, a picture of pristine water would not generate as much envy as one with a luxury resort.

3

Wear contrasting colours

This is one of the best ways to create engaging pictures while also making you stand out from everything else. If you're surrounded by blue ocean and green forests, wear some bright colours such as red or purple to stand out from the surroundings. You can also opt for dark colours if the environment is too vibrant and bright. Be sure to wear colours far away from the spectrum of the water's shade of blue. Red and White are colours that you simply cannot go wrong with.

4

Never Underestimate the Power of Props

One of the easiest ways to create an attention-grabbing picture is with the use of props. Generally you don't have to worry too much about them being outlandish, even ridiculous items such as unicorn-floaties are sure to make a great impression and will get people talking. If you're less flashy, be sure to items with interesting patterns or colours that will make them stand out. Anything from an interesting pair of sunglasses, to an umbrella or even scuba gear can add a great deal to a picture.

5

Capture Memories that Will Take You Back

There a few ways you can do this, if you're travelling with a friend you can ask them to take as many natural shots as possible without having to pose for them. You can also do this by being mindful to take pictures in all the favourite places you come across during your trip. Don't just take staged group shots but be sure to take pictures of all your favourite places, be sure take pictures with you in them as well. If you happen to be travelling with your special someone, captures moments of yourselves in each of the settings you loved most.
