Nelson Bay – Your Ocean Playground

This is Port Stephens main playground; Nelson Bay is located to on the south shores and consists of some stunning beaches. Do check out Dutchman's Beach and Little Beach for loads of family fun. These are quite popular amongst families due to the beaches location within a sheltered beach. Besides, some of the most exciting water sports activities are available around these sandy shores. These coastal beaches are a mere five minute drive from the city centre. Fingal Beach is well laid out offering facilities for picnics, BBQ's and riding your bicycles together with amenities of showers, toilettes and shops to explore. Zenith and Wreck Beach – Places of Natural Beauty

Both these beaches are accessed through Shoal Bay. The area is just right for nature lovers to appreciate the natural beauty of Port Stephens and for spotting whales and dolphins that frequent the area. It's quite common to see wedding parties enjoying celebrations on this beach.

Box Beach – Surfing Pleasures

Box Beach is not as accessible as the others but it does deserve special mention for those of you eager to set off on an early morning surfing tour. The ideal beach to head to at first light, Box Beach is just right for a bout of body surfing and surfing.
