The Top 5 Beaches in Caloundra – Sun Soaked Holidays

If you are headed to Queensland's Sunshine Coast and looking for a coastal getaway then Caloundra is well worth visiting. Here are some of the best beaches you will find here.

1

Bulcock Beach

This beach features an idyllic shore area where one can lie back and soak up the sun. The waters surrounding this shoreline are relatively calm and it is patrolled as well. Easily accessible from Caloundra hotels in the area, the beach has a parkland area for more relaxation, while those travelling with kids can take them to the castle and pirate ship where they can play in. There is a gentle break for surfing and those who want to learn can head to the Caloundra Surf School. Those in search of more action packed fun can try some jet-skiing, though after all that activity you may want to unwind and if so, consider taking a stroll along the Esplanade.

2

Golden Beach

Another popular beach in Caloundra, the Golden Beach offers more sun soaked adventures. Around a 5 minute walk away from Oaks Oasis Resort, this beach stretch can be found along the Caloundra Coastal Walk, located at its southern end. The sheltered shoreline is wonderfully calm and is ideal for those who like to spend time in the ocean minus the imposing waves. This laidback shore is also well suited for those planning to have a beachside picnic or if you prefer you can even try some kayaking. You also have the option of indulging in a spot of fishing and you may just catch some golden trevally.

Kings Beach

For family fun, head to Kings Beach which is perfect for a day of fun in the sun, sand and surf. There is a water park for those looking to cool off other than in the ocean, swimming spots that are patrolled so you can swim in relative freedom and even some surf-worthy waves. There are even BBQ spots for you to use, a saltwater rock pool by the beach and a children's pool as well. Those visiting during the Caloundra Music Festival can additionally look forward to enjoying some cool music when here.

4

Moffat Beach

If you are looking for some excellent waves for surfing then Moffat Beach should be on your list when beach hopping in Caloundra. This lively shoreline area has an old world charm and even features a craft beer brewery by the coastline. While this is a non-patrolled beach, you will find relatively safe and shallow waters at the point Tooway Creek comes out to the shore. One of the highlights here, apart from the idyllic setting, are the many foodie delights to be found in and around the beachside area, perfect for satisfying those cravings after a satisfying time by the ocean.

5

Currimundi Lake

Currmundi Lake is the ideal hideaway with something for everyone. In one part you will find sand islands and beach banks, perfect for families looking to take their kids to some place fun. The waters are shallow here, while if you are the active type then you can try canoeing, stand up paddling and kayaking. This natural lake in actual fact connects up to a surf beach where you can enjoy some pure surfing adrenaline or even some kite surfing.
