"Thriller Revisited" - an Anniversary Tribute to Michael Jackson

June 25th marks the eighth anniversary of Michael Jackson's untimely death in 2009. Later this year, we'll be commemorating the 35th anniversary of the release of his landmark 'Thriller' album, featuring a record-setting seven top-ten Billboard pop hits and three groundbreaking music videos for "Billie Jean," "Beat It" and "Thriller."

To pay tribute to the late King of Pop, I've picked what I consider to be an interesting set of cover versions of each song from 'Thriller' and placed them in order of their original album sequence, which you can see and/or hear in the audio/video collection here.

The nine artists featured in this "Thriller Revisited" are the Filthy Six, Quadron, Thor, Simply Three, Raintime, Alex Goot and the more familiar names of Chris Cornell, Miles Davis and Lou Rawls.

In fact, let's just get right to it. Check out "Thriller Revisited" below and see what you think.

And feel free to visit my music blog site at djrobblog.com for this and more great articles.

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - The Filthy Six (featuring Brendan Reilly)

The British organ-jazz sextet known as the Filthy Six gets things kicked off with this 2016 remake of MJ's most energetic tune from 'Thriller.' The spirit of the original remains intact, albeit with a more acid-jazz spin on it.

Hi, I'm DJ Rob, owner and author of the music blogsite djrobblog.com. I live in Chicago, IL and have been doing the blogsite since January 2015. It features articles about music news, history and trivia - both old and new. The features I enjoy doing the most are my djroblists. I've done dozens of lists ranking everything from blue-eyed soul singers to Prince's greatest songs. I only recently started converting them to listly to increase interaction with my readers. Take some time to enjoy them and let me know what you think! And check out djrobblog.com when you can!
