Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

There's no better way to start this list than by mentioning the most beautiful place to visit in Abu Dhabi – Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a religious work of art, and is said one of the largest mosques in the world. Set glamorously in the heart of the city, this mosque is noted by the largest sparkling chandelier in the world that measures 15 metres in height with 10 metre diameter and weighs 12 tonnes. The final resting place of Sheikh Zayed was on this site. With reflective pools around the mosque to amplify its beauty, the dazzling gold and white colours reflects the sun light during the day and at night are illuminated with a lighting system that is designed to reflect the moon's various stages. Golden Desert

No trip to the Middle East is complete if you don't sink your toes in to the soft (albeit burning) desert sands, even if it's just for a short period! Surprisnginly, though one would expect to find the desert in their backyard, this is not often true as most of the Emirates have been turning their landscapes green in the last few years. Travel a few kilometres out of the city, and you'll find yourself in the most naturally beautiful places in the world. The Arabian Desert is a sight on its own, brave the heat and take in the surrounding views. If you can't get enough of the desert in Abu Dhabi, resort options are quite numbered, some of which are located in the heart of the golden dunes, such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, to give you a true Arabian experience. While you're here, try out a desert safari!

4

Al Ain

Located about an hour from Abu Dhabi, the city of Al Ain is a must visit for tourists.
