Best surf clubs in Sunshine Coast -Love the waves? Here's where to go

Whether you want to ride the waves or watch them roll onto the shore, you need to hit the Sunshine Coast's surf clubs. The views, the food and the beer are top-notch. What else can you ask for?

1

The Surf Club, Mooloolaba

This surf club is best known for its food. Ham and Cauliflower Croquettes and Paella are two of the favourite dishes among locals. On Sunday mornings, you might have to call and reserve a seat because the breakfast buffet is a hot seller. For more serious visitors, The Surf Club offers lifesaving classes. Also, the second-floor hall can be rented out for functions. The view from here is nothing short of stunning.

2

Marcoola

In Sunshine Coast's surf club community, Marcoola is a lesser-known underdog. Their location, however, is one of the most enviable in the area. An open deck that is only a few metres above the beach, gives Marcoola a relaxing ambience. They even have a 'courtesy bus' that can pick you up from your holiday accommodation. Sunshine Coast has been hiding this gem of a venue since 1969.

3

Coolum Beach

Coolum Beach surf club offers one of the best views in all Sunshine Coast. They have a large deck. So, getting a seat is of relative ease. But if you want to have a beer with your friends, it is better to call and make a reservation. It is the only bar and restaurant on the beach side on the David Low way. Since there are no other crowded pubs in the area, Coolum Beach attracts many loyal customers.

4

Alex surf club (Alexandra Headland surf club)

Alex surf club is in the busy beach strip between Coolum and Mooloolaba. It is one of the busiest beaches in Sunshine Coast. The surf club is complete with a bistro and bar, 'bluff bar' that has a bottle shop and hall for functions. It also has a gaming room. The club's summer camp is popular among the kids in the area. Alexandra Headland is a popular tourist stay, with the likes of Oaks Seaforth Resort in the vicinity.

5

Noosa Surf Club

This surf club is a contender for the 'best view in Sunshine Coast' title. The lush green national park is on one side and the waves frolic on the golden shore a few inches from your toes. The food here complements the view. Although they come at a fine-dining price, it is completely worth it. The perfect combination of the sea and food brings a large crowd here on most days. It's always better to call and reserve before you come.

Maroochy Surf Club

Maroochy is a rustic and simple establishment. The owners had wanted to give more prominence to the view, which is out of this world! From the beachfront, the open deck of the Maroochy Surf Club, provide a view up to Point Cartwright. The food and drinks are affordable. However, make sure that you make a reservation. This location is frequented by families who come here to absorb in the view.
