Biggest shopping malls in Melbourne -Where to go on a shopping spree while in town

Melbourne is undoubtedly Australia's culture hub. It has a flourishing restaurant and bar scene. It has amazing beaches. The city is also home to some of the largest shopping malls in Australia.

1

Chadstone, Victoria

Chadstone is Australia's largest shopping mall. It covers an area of 190,000 square metres. It offers a complete shopping experience but focuses mostly on fashion. True to its vision to become Australia's fashion capital, you can find representation from all major fashion labels in the world at Chadstone. 'Health and Beauty' is another segment that dominates the mall.
The mall has four different dining areas. These serve as spots for everything from grabbing a casual bite to fine-dining. The four areas are food central, dining terrace, food atrium and dining laneway. Chadstone also boasts Australia's best movie-going experience. The brand-new cinema has multiple halls that offer the best comfort.

2

Westfield Knox, Victoria

This shopping mall has over 350 stores that cater to fashion, health and beauty, electronics and household appliances. It also has restaurants that offer a large diversity of international cuisine. It also has over 6300 parking spaces for patrons. The mall is also the venue for interesting events and a stellar movie-going experience.
In 2014, Westfield Knox was the 3rd largest mall in all Australia. However, the expansion programme that is currently underway will bring its total leasable area up to 188,500 square metres, making it the 2nd largest in Australia as well as in Melbourne.

3

Westfield Fountain Gate, Victoria

Another Westfield property, this is currently the 2nd largest mall in Melbourne as well as Australia. It currently has 6,500 free parking spaces and is one of the most accessible malls in this part of the country. Its location is central to many of the hotels and serviced apartments in Melbourne with the likes of Somerset on Elizabeth Melbourne just around 30 mins away.
Fountain Gate specialises in fashion. It has many stores representing the best fashion brands. It has separate departments for men's' clothing, women's clothing, children's clothing and sportswear. The mall also offers a concierge service, a playing arena for kids, scooter hire for customers with special needs and a parents' room.

4

Highpoint, Victoria

Highpoint is more inclined towards catering to a younger audience. It has over 500 stores. Like other malls, the focal point is international fashion and accessories. Highpoint also features some of the best Australian fashion labels. There is also a fresh food market that sells fully organic products.
The Junction is one of the food courts at Highpoint. The collection of many food outlets in a relaxing setting makes for the best atmosphere while having a casual bite. Adjacent to the food court is the entertainment and gaming areas of the mall. It is a fun mall to go to.

5

Westfield Doncaster

Doncaster, like Westfield's other malls, are large, prestigious venues that promise a lot of fun for the entire family. There is a similar layout of fashion stores, health and beauty centres, entertainment sections and restaurants here. However, there is no free parking facility here unless you spend $400 or more at the mall.
