While Perth in Western Australia may be a modern city, it also has some wonderful areas of greenery and coastal beauty. Here are some of its top walking trails featuring such diverse landscapes.

A walking path that can be found in the Burswood area, this particular trail is set alongside the enchanting Swan River. The loop trail is roughly a little over 6 km in length and offers one the chance to take in the beauty of East Perth. Claisebrook Cove is amongst the places you will come across on your walk as well as Herisson Island which is of particular interest since here, you have the chance of seeing kangaroos.

Botanic Garden Discovery Walk

Kings Park is an expansive park bordering the central business district in Perth. This expanse has a variety of trails for you to enjoy, one of them being the Botanic Garden Discovery Walk. This particular walk lets you discover the wonders of the Western Australian Botanic Garden. The great thing is that there are two options; you can either do the shorter walk which is a total of 40 minutes (one way and back - 20 minutes each) while those who want to truly soak up the outdoor charm of Kings Park can go along the longer walk which takes around 80 minutes in total including the return journey. The longer Botanic Garden Discovery Walk is a great way to explore such areas as the Water Garden and the Lotterywest Federation Walkway. Even though you may be staying at a luxury hotel Perth has to offer and are enjoying the very best of personal pampering, spending time on this trail is well worth your while!

Bushland Nature Trail

Another walk which can be enjoyed in Kings Park is what is known as the Bushland Nature Trail.
