Students will assess strengths and weaknesses and will set S.M.A.R.T goals related to their leadership strengths.
Students will explore digital and media literacy issues with a focus on legal ramifications for bad digital decisions. The lesson will culminate with students creating a set of guidelines for online etiquette.
Students will explore different modes of communication, practice conflict resolution, recognize internet dangers, communicate effectively to solve a problem, and practice forgiveness techniques.
Students will complete a series of exercises that will allow them to explore their emotional quotients. The exercises helps them to navigate through feelings, recognize patterns in behavior, and set and work towards goals.
Students will identify and categorize characteristics of entrepreneurs and evaluate themselves relative to these characteristics.
Students will identify personal values and practice engaging in dialogue about differing values. Students will then analyze the effects of personal values on public policy.
Students will solve a student-selected problem using a six-step problem solving process and then evaluate the relevance of the process.
Students will work together to create a structure out of playing cards, popsicle sticks, or the material of your choice. Based on Habit 6 of Steven Covey's’ The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, it includes problem solving and decision making skills, role playing, and culminates with a reflective discussion.
