Called the 'Gateway to the ruins of Angkor', Siem Reap is a beautiful resort town that's located in the North West of Cambodia. From the 9th to the 15th the city was the seat of the Khmer Kingdom and you can find many of the remnants of this era, still standing tall and proud to this day. The best of these is the magnificent Angkor Wat Temple. This temple and all the other stone buildings of Angkor have been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The other temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park include Preah Khan, Ta Prohm, Phnom Bakheng, Banteay Kdei, Ta Som, Ta Keo, Pre Rup, Neak Pean and East Mebon.
In addition to the Angkor temples, Siem Reap has other attractions that include luxury spas, chic backpacker hotels, a vibrant Cambodian cultural village, museums, souvenir shops, lush paddy fields and much more!
