The Visual Trigger Tamer app uses a video recording for the trigger. It is similar to the Misophonia Trigger Tamer app (which uses a sound file for the trigger). Misophonia Reflex Finder App

The Misophonia Reflex Finder app is now available for both iPhones and Android devices. This is a free app that will help you identify your initial physical reflex. You can record a trigger, edit the imes that when the trigger is VERY short (about 0.2 seconds), it is just a “click” sound, and not a trigger. So you hear it, but don’t trigger (feel it). Then you slowly increase the duration (length) of the trigger until you start to feel it. At this point, you will not have the negative emotions — you will simply feel something in your body. What you feel is your initial physical reflex. Read More

Headphones

All noise cancelling headphones are not created equal. If you want to see the real benefit noise cancelling headphones have to offer, you need to try the best. Traditionally, noise cancelling headphones try to eliminate steady background noise such as the air conditioner fan or the roar in an airplane. But with misophonia, you need to have single occurrence sounds blocked. Starting with the Bose QC20, Bose headphones try to block single occurrence sounds, such as speech or chewing. I tried a pair of Beats headphones that were owned by a client, and I could not tell the difference for a single “thud” sound with noise cancelling on and off. I can’t say that all headphones except new Bose and Parrot don’t work for misophonia, but I can say that Bose and Parrot work great. Read More

Sequent Repatterning Hypnotherapists

Sequent Repatterning appears to be a new breakthrough in misophonia treatment using hypnosis. This was developed by Chris Pearson of Upton, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Hypnotherapists have tried a single step treatment without reported success. (At least we have no reports of lasting positive effects.) Even multiple treatment programs were simply repeating the single hypnotic suggestion, such as, “I remain calm when I hear chewing.” Read More

Misophonia Management and Neural Repatterning Technique

This treatment seems to only be effective when a person has specific triggers. For example, if a e, then this treatment will not work or will take a long time.
Also, when treating children, any behavioral issues must be addressed simultaneously, which is the primary career focus of Tom Dozier. Read More
