Cool Blonde

Cool Blonde

Cool blonde is a pale shade of hair that'll work great even if you have darker hair to begin with. You can try asking your hairdresser for cream highlights over any darker roots.
It'll look best on you if: you have darker eyes, perhaps brown, and skin tones that are medium to dark.
Stars who wear it well: Jessica Alba, Brie Larson

Honey blonde

Honey blonde

This colour looks warm and shiny, inviting the eye in those warmer months. Honey highlighting, leaving your darker roots visible, is an option once more.
It'll look best on you if: you have medium skin tone, again with darker eyes - probably brown or black.
Stars who wear it well: Beyonce, Taylor Swift

Strawberry blonde

Strawberry blonde

Unlike the blondes above, a full strawberry blonde shade will be easier to get if you already have hair that's lighter in colour. The shade itself is warm, approaching red.
It'll look best on you if: you have fairer skin and lighter coloured eyes.
Stars who wear it well: Kiernan Shipka, Kate Mara

Platinum blonde

Platinum blonde

Whether its time has simply come round again, or there's some sort of Game of Thrones effect going on, platinum blonde is another great hair colour for this summer. Talk to your hair colourist in Holborn if you fancy something bold and dramatic.
It'll look best on you if: you have fair-medium skin tones, though for the latter your skin should have a yellowish tint too to really suit platinum blonde hair. Platinum has a particularly fine effect when paired with blue or brown eyes.
Stars who wear it well: Kristin Stewart, Emilia Clarke (in her role as Daenerys Targaryen or the "Khaleesi" on Game of Thrones), Zoe Kravitz, Rita Ora, Gwen Stefani, Marilyn Monroe.

Defined highlights

Defined highlights

Okay this isn't a hair colour as such, but clearly defined highlights are definitely in this year. There's going to be a strong emphasis on colour placement that is clearly defined and not blended, and on dimensional colour that's warm, or possibly mixed with neutrals.
It'll look best on you if: you have any of a wide range of skin tones and eye colours.
Stars who wear it well: Giselle, Jasmine Tookes, Ciara
