CNC machines

Welcome to Machining Design Associated Ltd, we are a full-service Precision CNC Machine Shop, producing high-quality machined parts and sub-assemblies to customer specifications. We deliver in diverse markets such as Military, Aerospace, Mining, Medical, Transportation, Electrical and many other business sectors.

There are different sorts of materials that are utilized as a part of CNC machined parts. Each of these materials is valuable to the procedure. Here are a portion of the materials used. Some individuals even work with steel and wax, contingent upon what they're outlining. One of the significant points of interest of CNC machines are the measure of materials that can be utilized with them, furnishing proprietors with different choices.

Plastic
Plastics are comparable to metals in cost per weight. Plastics are generously less costly by volume. That implies the material cost will be less if the material quality of plastic is adequate. Some plastics are more wear resistant then others.

Stainless Steel
Custom stainless steel parts are often used in: containers, handles, marine parts, engine parts, cooking utensils, medical devices, hospital instruments, lab equipment, and architectural parts. Did you know that some stainless will corrode? 316 stainless is a robust stainless used in the marine industry and is very good for corrosion resistance.

Brass
Brass is a metal made of copper and zinc, having a muted yellow color. It has good corrosion resistance against seawater. It is a highly durable material. The most common type of brass for machining is C360, which is a free cutting brass.

Aluminum
Aluminum parts are economical, lightweight and attractive. Parts made from this metal are often less expensive because they can be machined in less time. 7075 aluminum has a higher strength to weight ratio over 6061. Not all aluminum's are created equally.

Steel
Steel parts are often economical and are used in countless ways including: electronic enclosures, automotive parts, engine parts, lighting fixtures, appliances, bolts, nuts, tools, etc.

These are various materials that are use in CNC machines. For more material details click on Presion CNC machine Shop

4 Types of End Mills to Make your Machining Process Easier

End mill cutters are undoubtedly an essential part of the industrial milling process. These tools have cutting surfaces called flutes that define how refined the cutting process and the end product will be.
Generally, there are four different kinds of end mills that used in sync with the end-product desired. They are:

Straight Flute: As the name suggests, these end mills have ‘straight’ and basic flute and are best for general use. They are also widely popular for their good edge quality.

Up-cut and Down-cut End Mills: They are spiral tools that either carry the residue chips up and away from the designated area, hence giving it a somewhat rough finishing, or take them down for a smoother top finish.

Ball-nose Mill: Ball-nose mill has rounded tips that are ideal for 3D tooling as they produce some high quality carved surfaces.

V-bit: Generally used for carving a V-shaped depression in the material, v-bit end mill comes in two forms- 60° or 90° V-bit. The sharp tip of the tool is used to cut through the narrow paths whereas the wider bottom is used to create larger cuts. This CNC Machining tool is also ideal when wants exceptionally sharp edges as it can easily fit in, unlike the other end mill tools.

Pro tip: If you want even sharper finish your material, go for end mills that are tipped with solid carbide.

10 Ways to Ensure a Better Surface Finish For Your CNC Machined Parts

There are several things we need to keep in mind in order to get a perfect CNC machined part. Some of these major pointers come before we begin manufacturing them, like correct dimensions and tolerances, shape, quality of the raw materials used etc. But there is something that needs to be worked on after the machined part is produced.

Surface Finish: A process that helps define and refine the overall texture (lay, roughness, and waviness) of the machined part. We just cannot ignore the importance of an impeccable surface finish.

How to ensure the steps we are adopting will get a better surface finish?
We understand your dilemma. Hence, we have created a checklist of major surface finish dos and don’ts that will help you make your CNC machined part better. Check them out!

Entrepreneur’s guide to selecting the Right CNC Machining Material

Right materials make the best applications.

Material selection is a crucial step to get your CNC project right. Think of it as assembling a Subway meal based on your diet plan; you add meats if your diet chart asks for more protein, and greens for a vitamin fulfill. Similarly, selected materials must cover your design prerequisites— hardness, rigidity, thermal stability, and chemical resistance just to name a few. And your budget as well, of course.

Material characteristics are especially important when you require high precision CNC machined parts with complex designs. For instance: amorphous materials like metallic glass and polymers generally hold tighter tolerances than, say, aluminum.

In the following article, we will elaborate more on material types, their characteristics, tips and guidelines on choosing the right materials, and more. Let’s start with the basic: the material selection process.
