Parks and Gardens in Dubai - Lush Greenery of a Dry Landscape

Although locate in a harsh climate, Dubai and its technology have led to the creation of some of the most beautiful parks and gardens that are a perfect way to beat the weather.

1

Safa Park

Safa Park was opened in 1975 and is one of the most famous parks in Dubai. Spread over an area of 150 acres, this oasis has four entrances each from one of the four roads that frame it: Al Wasl road, 55th Street, Al Hadiqa street, and Sheikh Zayed road. In order to make it quite alluring and attractive for its visitors, Safa Park has three lakes. It is also home to 200 species of avian life and has over 15,000 different types of grass, bushes, and trees. It is perfect for picnics and family outings due to the presence of playgrounds and large shaded plain for picnic goers. There is also a small forest and a hillock that visitors can scale to reach gorgeous sights of the city. An artificial waterfall has been built into the hillock so that its water flows directly into the largest lake in the park.

Mamzar Beach Park

Mamzar Beach Park is one of the largest parks in Dubai. Beach villas being a famous accommodation option among the visitors to Dubai, establishment of a beach park where visitors who do not have accommodation by the can also drop by to enjoy the waters seems ideal. However, the Mamzar Beach Park is unlike any other. It is massive in size – large enough to drive through it – and features five separate beaches. There is an open area that has been laid with grass as well as an outdoor swimming pool for those who do not want to take to the sea. The Park is complete with several small restaurants, cafes, cycle renting places, as well as a few grocery stores. The Mamzar Beach Park is like a city unto its own and is definitely worth the out of way drive you have to take to reach it.

Al Barsha Park

Located about half an hour from many luxury resorts like Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Al Barsha Park is also known as Al Barsha Pond Park. As is the case with all the parks in Dubai, this, too, is quite large in size and has a number of large ponds that act as the central feature of the park. There are running tracks as well as cycling tracks designed around these ponds so that you are never away from a source of water at any point within the park. It is perfect for those who are into an active lifestyle as the park also features tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts.

Mushrif Park

Mushrif Park is as much a cultural experience as it is a way to relax. Not only does it contain a woodland, it also houses a little zoo of goats. There are ponies and camels, trains to ride, and a swimming pool. But what makes the Park stand out is its replica houses from all over the world. You can explore each house and appreciate the difference in architecture and design that go into them. It is the perfect place for a family outing.
