Adelaide Bar Bucket List – Adelaide's Finest Watering Holes

Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, is one of the most prosperous cities in the continent. It is also renowned for its food and wine scene.

1

Clever Little Tailor

This bar single-handedly started off the laneway-bar culture of Adelaide, and is therefore a very notable establishment. So much so that any sort of Adelaide holiday accommodation you're staying at, like the Oaks Horizons, might recommend it as a place to grab a drink. This bar has a very diverse crowd ranging from office-workers to hipsters, and boasts an extensive range of wines and spirits. Clever Little Tailor recently garnered a little bit more fame when of their bartenders organised what was supposedly the highest wine tasting in history on the top of the Kilimanjaro Mountain.

2

The Tasting Room

For a delightfully spontaneous experience this is an ideal place. They have a selection of wines that change on a regular basis, ensuring that there will always be something new for you to sample. There are also exquisite, yet affordable, selections of cured meats and cheeses to accompany the wine you're choosing. The Tasting Room is a wine-store at heart, which means that you will always be able to take a bottle of your choosing home with you should you prefer.

3

Maybe Mae

As far as hidden gem are concerned in the bar scene of Adelaide, this is considered one of the most priceless. You will find Maybe Mae situated between the Leigh and Peel streets, which places it at the heart of Adelaide's cafe and bar culture. There's a very unique ambience to the bar which is perfect for those who appreciate dark and elegant atmospheres. The highlights of the bar are the beer and the wine, where the latter is even available in tap form. The cocktails were also reviewed as being excellent.

4

Mother Vine

This is considered by many as the best watering hole Adelaide has to offer. Mother Vine is a very dynamic locale, offering a great selection of food as well, so much so that many people drop by simply to have lunch. The menu changes every month, and the cuisine has a very string French influence. The extensive selection of wines contains both international and local varieties, making it a wine-lover's dream. The staff is also known to be highly trained and very knowledgeable staff who know the details behind every single wine offered by the establishment.

5

Pink Moon Saloon

If you're a fan of westerns then you're going to love this bar. With a distinctly old-fashioned theme with wooden stalls and stools, the Pink Moon Saloon will definitely make you feel like you're in Westworld. The establishment has a fascination with whisky, and also serves an ever-changing selection of beers served out of five taps. The bar also has a very carefully selected assortment of wines as well as a selection of seasonal cocktails. You can indulge in their cuisine from lunch-time onwards, and they have a brick oven within the premises guaranteeing some incredible baked goodness.
