Here you will find ten technology tools that I have found to be ten of the best out of all the others. There tools offer the most benefit in terms of supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.


Socrative is a formative assessment tool. No matter where or how you teach, Socrative allows you to instantly connect with students as learning happens. Quickly assess students with prepared activities or on-the-fly questions to get immediate insight into student understanding.

Little Bird Tales

This is web-based and an app. This tool allows the students to participate in storytelling with audio. Create or upload your artwork to each page. Record your voice and add text to each page. Email friends and family your finished book.

Explain Everything

"Explain Everything" is an interactive whiteboard. Start with blank canvas, prepare materials in advance, or import content in live instructional settings.Explain Everything provides teachers and students an opportunity to share thinking, reflect upon knowledge building, and assess both products and processes of learning.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is used in 90% K-8 schools in US. It is always free for teachers. Students can showcase and share their learning by adding photos and videos to their own portfolios.




The Quiver App combines physical coloring from “back in the day” with state of the art augmented reality technology. Coloring pages have never been so much fun! Their ability to render coloring pages into interactive 3D worlds is fantastic.


Edpuzzle is an app where you can take already existing videos from Youtube, Khan Academy, Crash Course, etc. or upload your own. Teachers can add their voice and questions along the video. Know if your students are watching your videos, how many times and see the answers they give.


Toontastic is a free animated cartoon app. With Toontastic 3D, you can draw, animate, and narrate swashbuckling adventures, breaking news stories, science reports, and all your other wacky ideas.

Remind 101

Remind is the end of unread emails and handouts. Anyone can send text messages straight to any phone without giving out your personal phone number. You can see who has read your messages and who has missed it.


Quizizz is similar to Kahoot! but ten times better. Quizizz works on any device with a browser. It also has an awesome iOS app and Chrome app.


With TodaysMeet, students can join from home or even from other schools to make the classroom community even bigger. TodaysMeet gives everyone the floor and lets even the quietest students express themselves.
