Murdoch Mysteries: The Curse of the Lost Pharaohs is an International Digital Emmy®-nominated 13-part original online series created as an extension of the fourth season of Murdoch Mysteries on Citytv and UKTV’s Alibi. Featuring the stars of the series, the online adventure brings to life Constable George Crabtree’s first novel, “The Curse of the Lost Pharaohs.” In each installment, Crabtree must work alongside Detective Murdoch, Julia Ogden and Inspector Brackenreid to battle mummies and evil villains in a valiant attempt to save the Queen of England and – in turn – the world. Produced using a hybrid of live-action video and breathtaking animation, this groundbreaking project will feature a new chapter of Crabtree’s tale each week.

The idea for this short came from an idea for a scene originally considered for inclusion in the film The Incredibles; it was cut from the feature and subsequently expanded into this short. The short is based on the baby, Jack-Jack, and takes place at around the same time as the events of the main film. From The Incredibles, the audience knows that Jack-Jack's babysitter Kari McKeen started experiencing difficulty with him shortly after hanging up the phone with his mother, Helen Parr (also known as Elastigirl or Mrs. Incredible).

The LEGO® Movie, the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO® adventure, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller is an original 3D computer animated story that follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Tracey: Re-Fragmented makes available at www.traceyfragments.com all the footage from the shoot of the film for users to download and re-edit their own related projects including music videos, new trailers or to re-edit the entire movie themselves. The Creative Commons licensed initiative also makes available the score of the movie by Indie Collective Broken Social Scene.
Director Bruce McDonald explains the inspiration behind the project: “The Tracey Fragments is a film that fully embraces experimentation and teamwork. I wanted to find out if that experience exists on the Internet and give others the chance to experiment and play with some beautifully shot footage of a world class actress in a free form environment. I hope people make their own feature films, short films, rock videos, trailers, experimental films and personal manifestos out of The Tracey Fragments.”
Discussion about the multi-frame aesthetic of the film:
Far from ideological or critical motives (split screens f.e. as a way to focus on the mechanics of screen culture by announcing their very constructedness, generating a critical rupture — one that we posit as intrinsic to audiovisual media), here it is supposed to serve as a device to convey the emotions of the main character, “like an echo, or like embroidery. We thought, the more we can experience the world the way little Tracey Berkowitz does, the closer we’ll feel to her romantic notions, her tendency to exaggerate. We want to feel her crisis.” As a reporter from CBS news states: “At various moments, images and dialogue recede, foreground and overlap. The effect is a shattered film for a shattered adolescent psyche”.

Traversal Design Notes: The full footage files were offered by the director for budding editors, fans and editors to remix themselves, after the release of the film. It was a competition, which resulted in publication in the DVD release of The Tracey Fragments in 2008. This is the molding drive in play, where the creator facilitates a way for audiences to make it more their own. There are two points of molding connection: personality and content. Bruce stated that he wanted to share the footage to extend the spirit of experimentation and teamwork that was part of the film. The film is constructed as fragments, with multi-frame imagery and non-linear story progression.

Traversal Design Notes: Radiohead facilitated the fans making a live event video in the style they wanted, from their point-of-view. Fans were given cameras shoot the event, along with the audio masters of the show. Fans then edited the footage and produced the video, which was made available to download in various formats ( DVD, HD QuickTime, iPod (MP4), Xvid and Blu-ray) within 5 months after the show. The video won the "Live Production of The Year" award at the 2012 MPG awards.

Doom WAD is the default format of package files for the video game Doom and its sequel Doom II: Hell on Earth, that contain sprites, levels, and game data. WAD stands for Where's All the Data?.[1] Immediately after its release in 1993, Doom attracted a sizeable following of players who created their own mods for WAD files—packages containing levels, graphics, and other game data—and played a vital part in spawning the mod-making culture which is now commonplace for first-person shooters. Thousands of WADs have been created for Doom, ranging from single custom levels to full original games; most of these can be freely downloaded over the Internet. Several WADs have also been released commercially, and for some people the WAD-making hobby became a gateway to a professional career as a level designer.

Traversal Design Notes: id Software released tools to facilitate players being able to make modifications of their game, DOOM. Rather than players doing it themselves, with limited files, id Software provided the data and tools to facilitate easy creation of new levels. They did this because they noticed games, like Castle Wolfenstein, have a longer consumer life with mods. Mod tools are now available on many games, enabling fans to create new versions in a way that is more like them.

With Jake Johnson, Zachary Levi, A.J. LoCascio, Fred Tatasciore. Jurassic park founder, Simon Masrani, recruits his trusted scientists Claire and Dr. Wu to help create an amazing dino-hybrid called the Indominus Rex. But, when it escapes, they look to rugged dinosaur trainer, Owen Grady, to save the day.
From SlashFilm:
Universal Pictures has teamed up with LEGO to produce a 24-minute animated short film which acts as a prequel to Jurassic World. Titled LEGO Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape, the short film shows how the Indominus Rex came to be and what happened when it escaped.
That’s right, according to this new piece of Jurassic World canon, the movie wasn’t even the first time this genetically engineered dino escaped and apparently Chris Pratt‘s character rides the T-Rex. And of course, this being a LEGO production means we get all the fun, ridiculous and playful humor we’ve come to expect from the building block brand.

Videos: (part 1)
_Traversal Design Notes: This short film (in parts) represents key moments from the Jurassic World feature film and is within the comedic viewpoint of LEGO animated films. Interestingly, the short film is framed by Universal as being a prequel, which is the opposite of what it does. The entire film is a reworking of key moments from the film, in the comedic style of LEGO. The pleasure comes from experiencing these moments through the LEGO approach. It would be less pleasurable and effective if it was a pure prequel. _

Legendary Digital Studios and Square Enix have joined forces to adapt the award-winning video game, Life Is Strange.

Wikipedia (Game): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Is_Strange
Game website: http://lifeisstrange.com/
Traversal Design Notes: The indie game is being adapted into a live-action feature film. People are used to major AAA games being adapted into feature films as part of the economics of franchises. Life is Strange is not a game designed for mainstream players and audiences. It represents a shift in economics of niche films and widening audiences through cross-media (gaining audiences with each new medium). The videogame and movie experiences are very different, and so an adaptation does not cancel out the appeal of the other.

"Originally titled "Bobby", "Lifehouse" was a futuristic opera set in a polluted world with a totalitarian government that was redeemed by the music of The Who. It was originally envisioned to combine live performances, a movie and an album. Supposedly, Townshend was initially promised a million dollars from Universal Pictures for the project. The use of a London theater, the Young Vic, was arranged for the live performances to be filmed. Townshend had demo tapes of almost forty songs connected with the project. But, for various reasons (that we will touch upon), the Lifehouse project never materialized."
