UNCONDITIONAL - Without any requirements. (No prerequisites, no stipulations, no special demands, no work requirement, no means-testing.)
UNIVERSAL - For everyone. (If it isn’t Universal & Unconditional- it isn’t “UBI”)
BASIC - A foundational income floor. (To provide vital food, clean water, basic shelter. To ensure social inclusion. To diminish daily stress & anxiety. To ensure a foundational level of health, cognitive ability, & socio-economic lifetime trajectory. The freedom of time, to express your greatness or fulfillment using the limited time you have on Earth.)
INCOME - A monthly amount ensured as a right. (Because you have inherent value or worth from the day you are born. For existing as a human being here on Earth. For being a part of humanity.)

*If human civilization is a skyscraper we’ve been building together for thousands of years, unconditional basic income is the foundation we neglected to place underneath it all. *
2017 is the year Universal/Unconditional Basic Income takes root around the world!
The Worldwide Universal Unconditional Basic Income Movement is a movement of people around the world who have decided that people have a right not to be property. That we can decide that people have a right not to live in poverty." We can decide that everyone on Earth has worth and value from day one. We have decided. We hope you do to. Join the movement today and speak up about Universal Basic Income to everyone you know. The movement has actually been going for more than 50 years. http://basicincome.org

"Ideas can and do change the world," says historian Rutger Bregman, sharing his case for a provocative one: guaranteed basic income. Learn more about the idea's 500-year history and a forgotten modern experiment where it actually worked -- and imagine how much energy and talent we would unleash if we got rid of poverty once and for all.
Why everyone should have a basic income | Guy Standing - "It is not only possible, but feasable, desirable, affordable. It’s a remarkable change. We’ve established a network called BIEN (Basic Income Earth Network), and I just hope at least one of you listening, will join us in the struggle... because it is going to be a struggle... and it will only come about if we collectively demand it... and that is possible, and desirable."

The idea of an unconditional basic income has three historical roots. The idea of a minimum income first appeared at the beginning of the 16th century. The idea of an unconditional one-off grant first appeared at the end of the 18th century. And the two were combined for the first time to form the idea of an unconditional basic income near the middle of the 19th century.

Consider for a moment that from this day forward, on the first day of every month, around $1,000 is deposited into your bank account – because you are a citizen. This income is independent of every other source of income and guarantees you a monthly starting salary above the poverty line for the rest of your life.
As long as we face starvation and homelessness, we are at the whims of others.
A basic income could defeat the scarcity mindset, instill a sense of solidarity and even ease the anxieties that gave us Brexit and Trump
