Dolomite is composed of calcium magnesium carbonate and its chemical formula is CaMg(CO3)2 .The amount of calcium and magnesium is equal but sometimes small amount of iron and manganese may also be present. It is composed of 52.06% oxygen, 13.03% carbon, 13.18% magnesium, and 21.73% calcium. It is a soft mineral that occurs in crystals and sometimes in giant sedimentary rocks.
