Street food is the biggest lure in Bangkok and any self-loving tourist will not leave the city without a thorough scout of the city's food markets. Sticky mango rice, savoury pork, kebabs, steaming pots of noodles and yes even fried insects are a treat to indulge. Hey, the insects are a must for lasting memories of this exotic location.

Shop till you drop, literally in Bangkok. The place is home to some of Asia's largest malls selling all manner of goods. Pamper the diva in you by visiting the likes of Siam Paragon and CentralWorld where the world's best luxury brands including chic sports cars are yours to buy. Mind you be prepared to splurge as you indulge at these ritzy malls easily reached from a well-placed hotel in Asoke. Bangkok is not all about splurging; there are loads of markets such as Chatuchak and the floating markets. Over 1,500 stalls selling a staggering array of consumer goods are yours to browse. There you can buy the best knock offs of branded goods, clothes, accessories, watches, shoes and much more. Best of all these vibrant precincts are well laid out with plenty of food stalls and even live entertainment to create an exciting party atmosphere.

Tuk Tuks are Fun Rides

You must experience a ride on a tuk tuk when in Bangkok. These three wheeled taxis are your best bet for zipping around the traffic congested streets of Bangkok. Ideal for exploring the entertainment hub of Sukhumvit and Asoke are home to accommodation option of the likes of AVANI Atrium Bangkok; these taxis are fun rides with air conditioned taxis for long journeys. Remember to always come to an agreement on the fare before the journey and to not take the tuks parked outside touristy spots as these are more likely to scam you.

The mighty Chao Phraya River snakes across the city; an ancient relic is known better as the River of Kings this is the best sightseeing venue in Bangkok. A ride on a river ferry is very economical; zipping from port to port the boat is excellent for sightseeing and reaching various precincts at a fraction of the cost. It is an ideal mode for discovering river life in Bangkok while enjoying sights of ancient temples, verdant banks and some of the country's ancient royal barges.
