Destinations to fall in love in Spain

There are destinations to rest, destinations for adventure, destinations for sports, historical destinations ... And destinations so complete, diverse and exciting that one always ends up in love. Seville, Barcelona or Madrid are 3 of those cities that touch the heart of the traveller and become unforgettable.

1

Salamanca

Salamanca

The Castilian city where Unamuno lived. The university city of excellence, a paradise for lovers of history and literature, where walking through its streets you will be immersed in some of the most important Spanish literary work: The Lazarillo de Tormes, La Celestina ... Its squares and parks surrounded by imposing buildings, its exquisite gastronomy - with a culture of tapas that is almost a religion -, the walk along the banks of the Tormes, the silhouette of the cathedral in the background, the palace of Anaya, the Pontificio University, the Plaza Mayor and the Del Corrillo ... Magic, Salamanca is pure magic. A place to return to forever, where tranquility and nightlife combine perfectly. To stay, it is best to opt for a hotel in the center: there are even rooms that overlook the wonderful Plaza Mayor.

2

Madrid

Madrid

Capital of capitals, vibrant, historical and full of traditions and trendiness. Madrid is the place where we all find ourselves at home. It is a huge but cosy city, where you never feel foreign. Its institutional buildings and old quarters, such as Las Letras or La Latina, hide routes for all tastes: tapas, literary paths, museums - such as the Triangle of Art -, the Royal Palace and its spectacular gardens, Opera and the imposing Gran Vía but in order to fall in love with Madrid you have to visit El Retiro, a destination in itself, moreover, in the spring it becomes the meeting point of Madrid and tourists who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of traffic and immerse themselves in nature without leaving the city. Getting around Madrid is very easy: metro, train, bicycle, taxi, car2go… and the accommodation is very economic, including luxury hotels like Iberostar Letras, Vincci The Mint, Petit Palace Triball

3

Barcelona

Barcelona

Pure Mediterranean with a dynamic twist. The city of modernism and design. Barcelona has a thousand different sides to it and they are all beautiful. The trips that can be organised to the city of Barcelona can be as diverse as every traveller wants: a cultural getaway, a weekend of concerts with friends, a vacation with the family ... Barcelona has a beach, has an amusement park, has beautiful natural areas and lively streets like few other cities can boast. Its squares and terraces invite you to enjoy its mild climate throughout the whole year and the gastronomy is varied and light, perfect to combine with long walks outdoors. To get around Barcelona the easiest is by metro but by far the best is to walk. therefore, the ideal location in which to stay is in downtown. The accommodations are more expensive than in Madrid but are of a high quality: the Catalonia Hotel chain is one of the most versatile in terms of rates and locations, similar to the Vincci and Petit Palace hotels, such as the Petit Palace Boqueria Garden, located next to the famous market Of Sant Josep.

4

Bilbao

Bilbao

If you choose a city to fall in love with in the north of Spain, that is without a doubt Bilbao. In the last decade, this city of labor and industrial influence has come a long way to become one of the main cultural capitals of Spain. The construction of the Guggenheim Museum and the launching of the international music festivals, film, theatre, dance... All this makes the cultural calendar in this Basque city all year round. The impressive nature of its surroundings, the beauty of its estuary and the wonderful beaches that surround it, make Bilbao one of the most complete destinations for those who want a trip full of possibilities. The accommodation is very affordable and has quality establishments such as Sercotel hotels or Petit Palace, among which Petit Palace Arana Bilbao stands out.

5

Sevilla

Sevilla

Who does not fall in love with Seville? It is impossible not to fall for the Andalucian capital even after just a brief visit. Its atmosphere is always full of lively conversations and smiles, it's delicious tapas and classic flamenco taverns, its squares that smell of orange blossom, its mythical buildings (the cathedral, the giralda, the spectacular Plaza de España ...). Seville is a fairy tale. An ideal option for a 3 or 4 day break with the group of friends or as a couple, but also a great place to go with children since there is a wide range of activities and culture for the little ones. Gastronomy is a plus, as is the art. The accommodation price and quality can vary. Some of the most symbolic and affordable downtown hotels are the Petit Palace Santa Cruz, next to the cathedral, and Hotel Murillo.

6

Santiago

Santiago

Small and cosy, Santiago de Compostela is a refuge for spirituality, good food and the exaltation of friendship. Besides being the destination of thousands of pilgrims every year, the Galician capital is a city full of history that has managed to integrate the present into its ancient millenary stones. The imposing cathedral is one of the main attractions, as is the famous street of Franco, with bars along its route where you can taste the tapas and typical Galician cuisine and the most select wines from this unique land. The nights are full of atmosphere, even in the winter’s rain, because Santiago is not only pretty in the sunshine but also when it rains. In reality, they are like two different cities. The cheapest accommodation is outside the old town, in the new area, such as the surroundings of the Red Square.
