The use of the essential patchouli oil for medicinal purposes has already a long tradition in traditional Chinese medicine, here it is mainly used for the treatment of all kinds of skin problems and is one of the ten most frequently prescribed remedies in this area. If the essential patchouli oil was applied to the skin, the wrinkle could be significantly reduced, the elasticity of the skin preserved and the collagen content increased. Collagen is one of the most important structural proteins of the body. In the skin, collagen ensures tautness, tension and resistance.
