In 2017 brides will see a fresher take on hair and beauty looks, from perfectly pink tones to beautiful blooms adorning pretty hairstyles. Here we’ll take a look at some of our favourite beauty trends for your Spring/Summer wedding, which are easy to replicate and would look stunning with any wedding dress.
Take cues from the Houghton Spring 2017 show and complete a traditional bridal outfit with modern white eyelashes. Team with subtle checks and lips to really create a light, fresh makeup look. We’re also loving the trend of platinum eyeliner in bridal catwalks and all things pearlescent. If you feel platinum is too bold a move, add shine to your complexion by highlighting your cheekbones or giving your nails a metallic makeover.
This season it’s all about creating a healthy, youthful complexion, with a minimalist natural-looking touch. Keep your skin looking dewy and treat yourself to some skincare TLC (who needed an excuse?). On the big day let your skin be glowing, use natural, barely-there eyeshadow and give your lips a little pop of colour. Bold brows are still on top of the bridal game and can enhance your eyes and give you a more stand-out bridal look.
Plaits and braids are all the range in 2017, whether you choose small boxer braids or a dramatic plaited up-style. Matching an ethereal gown with a delicate braided up-do is a trendier take on the classic knot for this season. Set your braids with a beautiful tiara or headpiece to really turn heads on your wedding day.
For that all-important dash of glamour and femininity, think pink! Everything from pink eyeshadow, to pink lips and rosy cheeks were seen by bridal designers for 2017. It doesn’t have to be shocking though, opt for a pink matte makeup ensemble and embrace the monochrome trend in a pretty way.
As seen in the Lela Rose collection, brides of 2017 may choose to stray from the traditional veil and wear a delicate fishnet veil over their face. We think it will look extremely chic with a strapless, or prom-style dress. The fishnet veil would work perfectly with a fresh-faced complexion and a sophisticated up-do.
As well as the fresh flowers seen adorning the hair of models in the Marchesa Spring 2017 show, beautiful and dainty crowns are highly popular for the season. And we can see why - the simple makeup looks of the shows were given a sparkling uplift with these lovely embellishments. Crown tussled waves with pearls, crystals and precious metals. Or channel more statement crystal headpieces with the season’s signature twisted chignon.
