This is one of Beruwala's treasured cultural sites. The simple architecture is the greatest allure with the entire structure being painted in white except for the green doorways. Sitting on a headland looking out to sea, the mosque is believed to be over a 1000 years old as it is said to have been constructed by visiting Arab traders when Sri Lanka was part of the spice route.
Head over to Moragalla Beach for snorkelling and some vigorous body boarding. The beach is popularly known as the 'golden mile' with little isolated nooks for some relaxed time away from the crowds.
