1

Nuestra Senora de Gracia Church (Guadalupe Ruins)

At this attraction visitors will immediately notice the remarkable Doric elements of the architecture and the huge buttresses; these support the great weight of the stones which were obtained from a nearby now-defunct quarry. Although you will not notice much ornamentation at the site, you will be impressed by the massive solid walls which still portray a sense of strength and stability just as they did when they were built many years ago.

Saints Peter and Paul Church

This handsome church which was constructed at Barangay Poblacion in the year 1620 still presents an impressive sight today. Visitors will notice many features of interest within the church, such as a papal tiara with three tiers and a set of keys representing the papacy. You will see that the splendid altar with its carved features is the focus of the church. This remarkable church is named after St. Peter and St. Paul, who are regarded as the patron saints of the locality.

This remarkable museum is regarded as a significant repository of the distinctive culture and heritage of Makati. In fact, even the building in which the museum is housed can be regarded as something of a historical attraction in itself, as it functioned as Makati's town hall in days gone by. You will see that the museum features a fine collection of archaeological and ethnographic artefacts, including fossilized remains of animals who lived in prehistoric times. Visitors will also encounter earthenware produced in the area in ancient times. You will be captivated by Makati's eventful history as expressed through dioramas, murals and rare photographs.

4

Filipinas Heritage Library

Earlier part of the well-known Ayala Museum, this important library is now located at the Nielson Tower. The library may be described as an electronic resource; it employs the latest telecommunication and information technologies for traditional functions such as information retrieval, storage and dissemination. The aim of the Filipinas Heritage Library is to become a hub for research conducted electronically on the Philippines, with links to international and local libraries. Additionally, the library is also involved in the publishing of CD-ROMs, digitization endeavours and the development of electronic databases and web pages.
