When it comes to finding the most chic wedding outfit for 2017, think confidence. The new season trends boast light and bright shades, metallics, graphic prints, asymmetry and exaggerated lines. Depending on the occasion you can incorporate them subtly or really be bold for a stylish statement. Here we’ve listed our favourites, perfect for a spring/summer wedding!
Popular in bridal wear, sheer detailing is also a beautiful trend seen in guest’s wedding fashion in 2017. However this year sheer fashion has gone back to more modest roots. Wear dress styles that cover sheer detailing with floral embroidery and beadwork, just to give a hint to the silhouette underneath. This romantic number from Inspirato works in sheer perfectly, as well as taking on the ‘micro florals’ trend, which we love!
Taking cues from British seaside stripes, styles for spring/summer 2017 look to bold striped styles in classic shades of navy blue and white. However for a stylishly subtle take for your wedding outfit, create interest with asymmetric lines and tiny stripes in seasonal shades of blue and rose.
In line with modest sheers, the modern midi length is in full swing for 2017. Midi, or over-the-knee length dresses are ideal for weddings since they conjure sophistication, whilst still being sexy. Opt for a pencil style skirt and team your dress with a matching jacket to accentuate the waist and create a feminine look.
Match the light and bright spring/summer days with vibrant shades of yellow and fluorescent pink. Rose-coloured brights have made a real comeback for 2017, as well as rich reds. For a really stand-out and fashionable look, team neon colours with metallic accessories.
If bright colours aren’t something you’d feel comfortable in, blue is a big hit for the season, and it’s a shade that suits everyone. Blue is a flattering option for Mothers of the Bride and Groom, who’d like something a bit different from neutrals.
Big and voluminous ruffles are a definite go for spring/summer 17. Though for a wedding guest and particularly the Mother of the Bride or Groom, an effortlessly elegant way to wear ruffles would be to choose a dress style with more delicate layered ruffles, like this powder pink Condici dress.
