Certain luxury resorts in the US such as the Ritz-Carlton in Miami, have what is called a dedicated 'tanning butler'. This employee's job is to go around the pool decks, helping guests evenly apply the most suitable tanning lotions. Tanning butlers are also said to cart around items ranging from sunglasses to sun cream around the pool area for use by guests.

At a hotel in Madrid, guests are greeted by a plush set of luxurious bathrobes which have their initials sewn on them. These personalised delights which come wrapped with red ribbons and adorned with a lone rose, lie in wait to welcome guests as they enter their rooms for the first time. Although this gesture seems like quite a simple one, it seems to satisfy on quite a primal level – after arriving in a new place, far away from home, these monogrammed bathrobes make people feel special and at home.
While pet day care centres and spas are not uncommon in many upscale establishments, some have taken things a step further by introducing psychics and psychologists for pets! They also tend to offer treatments such as acupuncture and massages, in addition to the usual offerings that include extravagant bedding and high-quality food. It wouldn't be surprising if pets got better treatment than their owners at these resorts.
