“Boogie with the Stars” is part of a fun filled, New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance held at the Civic Centre in Prince George. The evening is primarily one of music and dance for everybody, with an excellent dinner, great entertainment, together with a fundraiser for the University Hospital of Northern BC in coordination with Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

Proudly presented by the Brink Group of Companies, Canadian Tire and Wood Wheaton Supercentre, the competition segment of the evening is based on the model of the very successful TV show, “Dancing with the Stars” – we put a cast of local celebrities and people of notoriety together with local dance instructors for a dance competition like no other in Prince George. Each couple will perform a magnificent dance routine of their choice in front of the Civic Centre crowd.

This year, BWTS has a specific goal. Spirit of the North is embarking on a fundraising campaign to purchase a fleet of 62 specialized rehabilitation wheelchairs for University Hospital of Northern BC. The wheelchairs are customized to fit each unique patient and are used daily in our hospital by individuals who are recovering from diverse issues such as stroke, traumatic injury and surgeries. BWTS will be the one of the events that will significantly close the gap on funding, and the hope is to have these new wheelchairs in place at UHNBC early in 2017.
