Top beaches in Bali – Golden Sandy Beaches and Clear Blue Waters

Bali, an island province of Indonesia, is one of Southeast Asia's top tourist destinations. Among the many things that contribute to making Bali truly amazing are it's splendid beaches.

1

Kuta Beach

Kuta is one of the most famous localities in Bali, and this is mostly due to the Kuta Beach. The Kuta Beach is arguably the most popular beach in Bali with many tourists visiting it each year. Though not the most peaceful of beaches in Bali (owing to the crowds it attracts), the sheer beauty of the beach makes it well worth visiting. The waters of the Kuta Beach are known for their superb waves, making it a hot spot amongst surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Located in close proximity to the beaches are many bars, night clubs, and the famous Hard Rock Café Bali. Make sure you also check out Legian Beach, just a few kilometers north of Kuta.

2

Padang-Padang Beach

Although Padang-Padang Beach doesn't share the same fame as some of the other top beaches of Bali, it is definitely one of the most scenic beaches on the island. Located near the holy Uluwatu Temple, this secluded beach doesn't have much of a sandy strip, but it does have many large rock formations with small caves which can be explored. The waters of this beach are excellent for swimming and the coral reefs off the coastline serve as great snorkeling sites. With its beauty, serenity and secluded nature, the Padang-Padang Beach is certainly one of the top beached of Bali.

3

Nusa Dua Beach

The Nusa Dua Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Bali. Located about 70km from Manggis – which has many a Candidasa hotel such as the Alila Manggis – the Nusa Dua Beach is a strip of golden sandy beach with clear blue waters. The idyllic beachfront is lined with luscious coconut palms, mangrove plantations and thriving orchards of trees, making the Nusa Due Beach one of the most scenic beaches in Bali. The sparkling waters are great for swimming and other water sports, and the north end of the beach attracts waves which are great for surfing. Snorkeling and diving are also very popular here. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, this stunning beach is a great place to chill out, surf, work on a tan, or just laze around sipping on a beer.

4

Balangan Beach

Located in the Uluwatu area, the Balangan Beach is one of the lesser known beaches of Bali. But what it lacks in popularity it sure does make up for in beauty. Arrive at this beach by making your way through some quaint villages and idyllic fields. Once at the beach, you will see first-hand its indescribable tranquility. Given that the beach is not overly popular it is hardly ever crowded, so visitors can relax the sheer beauty and serenity of this beach in privacy and comfort. Despite being a pristine golden sandy beach, the waters are not that best as Balangan Beach is known for its strong currents and big waves. But that shouldn't worry you too much as you can have a great time here without having to venture out into the open waters.

5

Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach boasts a reputation of stretching unhindered for many kilometers, making it one of the most spacious beaches Bali. Located along the south coast of Bali, Sanur Beach is known for its soft golden sand and tall coconut palms and luscious greenery. As if the beach wasn't scenic enough, the blue waters of the beach are crystal clear – so clear that you can actually see fish and other sea creatures swimming about from above the surface! The span of the beach is large enough for visitors to engage in any activity they want – be it tanning, beach sports or strolling around the beach – while the waters are mild making it ideal for wading out into the open ocean and swimming.
