Hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised and donated to local and international organisations in aid of disadvantaged children the world over.
Apart from the commercial work and personal appearances which Miss World is contracted to undertake in each country visited, time is always set aside to allow each country a chance to hold a special function attended by Miss World. All monies raised from ticket sales, raffles, tombolas or donations etc are entirely donated to the underprivileged and handicapped children of that country.The Miss World contestants (with the help of their Miss World National Organisations) have set up Beauty with a Purpose projects in more than 100 countries. This gives tens of thousands of young women every year, the opportunity to use their abilities to make a real and lasting contribution to the lives of the sick and disadvantaged.
Miss World 2013, the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 September 2013 at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center Bali, Indonesia. 127 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown making the biggest turnout in the pageant's history. Yu Wenxia of China PR crowned Megan Young of the Philippines as her successor at the end of the event. This is the first time that the Philippines won the title of Miss World.
Miss World 2007, the 57th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 1 December 2007 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China PR.It was hosted by Fernando Allende and Angela Chow. Zhang Zilin of China PR won the crown and succeeded Taťána Kuchařová of the Czech Republic.The 106 contestants recorded the official torch relay anthem Light the Passion, Share the Dream for the 2008 Olympics Games as a major co-operation between the Beijing Olympic Committee and Miss World Limited. The song had its first broadcast to a global audience at the 57th Miss World final on 1 December.In addition, to coincide with World AIDS Day, the pageant presented a special tribute to the fight against AIDS, with a televised speech from former South African President Nelson Mandela and the presence of his daughter and grandson, along with traditional dancers from South Africa who joined the contestants in a special song
Miss World 2005, the 55th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 10 December 2005 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China PR. María Julia Mantilla of Peru crowned her successor Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir of Iceland. 102 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. All contestants competed in three "fast track" events, Beach Beauty, Miss Talent, and Beauty With a Purpose contests. The winner of each competition immediately became one of the fifteen pageant semi-finalists.
Miss World 2004, the 54th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 4 December 2004 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China PR. The 2004 pageant marks the second straight year that Sanya played host of the pageant. Rosanna Davison of Ireland crowned her successor María Julia Mantilla of Peru. 107 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown marking at that time, the biggest turnout in the pageant's 54-year history. That record was held until Miss World 2008 where 109 nations sent representatives.

This was the first time China PR hosted the pageant.
Miss World 2000, the 50th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 November 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London, UK. The pageant's swimsuit segment was filmed in the Maldives.The pageant was the first since the death of pageant owner Eric Morley, whose widow Julia Morley assumed responsibility for the event. The pageant had 95 contestants, the highest number of Miss World participants ever. This was surpassed in 2003.
The pageant was won by Priyanka Chopra of India,at the age of 18. She is the fifth Indian Miss World and the second consecutive winner from her country.
Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss World 2016 on Sunday (December 18). 19-year-old Del Valle is a brown-eyed brunette student and speaks Spanish, French and English. Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez of the Dominican Republic, became the first-runner up, and Miss World Indonesia Natasha Mannuela, became the second-runner up.

Megan Young of the Philippines crowned her successor Rolene Strauss of South Africa at the end of the event. This is the second time that South Africa has won the title outright and the third time they have held the title.

Agbani Darego from Nigeria won the pageant.She was crowned by Priyanka Chopra of India. This is the first time Nigeria won the pageant.
Miss World 1994, the 44th edition of the Miss World, was held on 19 November 1994 and marked the third consecutive staging of Miss World in Sun City, South Africa. The pageant attracted 87 contestants from around the world. At the end of the night, Aishwarya Rai of India, at the time a 21-year-old architecture student,was crowned the new Miss World. She was crowned by Miss World 1993, Lisa Hanna of Jamaica. Earlier that year, another Indian, Sushmita Sen had won the Miss Universe title, securing the two leading international beauty pageants for India in 1994.

Miss World 1999, the 49th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 4 December 1999 at the Olympia Hall in London, UK. The pageant was hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and model Melanie Sykes. The 1999 pageant attracted 94 delegates from all over the world. The 1999 pageant also marked the first time that Scotland and Wales fielded their respective delegates. At the end of the event, Miss India Yukta Mookhey went on to win the Miss World 1999 crown at 22. The preliminary swimsuit competition was held in Malta. She was crowned by her predecessor Linor Abargil of Israel. Protesters gathered outside of the event, decrying it as a "sexist cattle market"
