What We Know about Sherlock’s Season 4

There is no valid information about dates and times, but we have our own hypothesis: the premier of the first episode of the fourth Sherlock series will be shown on January 01, 2017, which will be a Sunday.

We are not sure which of the Arthur Conan Doyle stories will be part of the new series. During the summer, before filming started on the past two series, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat made some teasing remarks about the contents of the series to come (“Fall/Woman/Hound” for number two and “Bow/Rat/Wedding” for number three). If they follow their teasing pattern as before, we should be getting another series of three words sometime in August.

Magnussen and Moriarty are supposed to be out and done with, so where is all the acid and evil going to come from? Well, in May, Toby Jones was announced as the actor for the new villain.

There has been no formal information, but we were able to find a new entry in Toby Jone’s CV, a little indiscretion on his part, and a great hit for us. He will be playing Culverton Smith, which leads us to believe that the second episode will have something to do with “The Dying Detective” story.

It is possible, but we do not believe so. Moffat’s comments about this question are also vague and undefined. He said that they would like to keep the series going, but he is hardly the person to make this decision.

Both Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch have said that even though their schedules are pretty tight, they will continue with the show all the way to the end. They are in for as long as it is necessary.
