Over the last weekend, we spent sometime curating what we think are some of the best Chrome apps and extensions for teachers and students. Our selection is based on the reviews we have been posting here over the last couple of years and is also based on criteria such as popularity of the apps, its ratings...etc. Of course the list is no way comprehensive and there are tons of other apps to be included here but for brevity and practicality purposes we limited our list to the titles featured below. Have a look and share with your colleagues.

I have put together a Google Chrome App and Extension Database for Teachers that is loaded with apps and extensions for productivity and classroom integration. Google Chrome can be customized to fit the needs of our student learners. The database includes 100+ Apps and Extensions and is searchable and filterable. I do not recommend every app and extension for every teacher. Rather, use this as a guide to find what works for you, your classroom and your students. There is something in here for everyone.

Technology is simply a way of life in the classroom these days. When I first started teaching, I felt so lucky to have an interactive whiteboard in my classroom, especially a mounted one. Now, only a short 8 years later, apps for elementary teachers are a must-have. Along with interactive whiteboards are tablets these days. With tablets come apps. There are loads of great apps out there for students to use, but what about apps for elementary teachers to use as we are teaching?

Once recorded, the audio file can remain on the Vocaroo servers and be easily transmitted via a link, or it can be downloaded into several different file types including MP3, Ogg, FLAC, or WAV. Additionally, it can be embedded onto a blog or website or shared via several social media buttons.
Ryan, Readability only shut down their bookmarking service, not the page clean up feature, which I am featuring in the post. Here's their statement "First, the Readability Reader API, which saves bookmark information for reading later, and which almost no one uses, will be shut down at the end of September. Second, the vastly more popular Readability Parser API, which extracts article content from web pages, will continue to run and will improve."

This post has many great options for eliminating paper in the classroom... from homework to classroom management (i.e. ClassDojo), there are many great ideas and apps explained. :) I am personally a huge supporter and user of ClassDojo, I highly recommend it for elementary and middle school teachers.
