Visage is free for the first 5 graphics. They provide a lot of stock photography and from the Noun Project. They also have chart functionality similar to Adobe Photoshop. What they do not have is templates.

Easel.ly offers a wide variety of templates that are presented as already made infographics. Other than the sprites you find in the templates, you have access to a collection of about 100 icons on a limited number of topics. the graphic style is not consistent.

Of all tool Canva easily has the largest variety of sprites and icons. They do not specialize in infographics oly, but in all types of visual content. there are plenty of free themes with Canva, but not a lot of structured templates.

Of all the tools on this list, Adioma is the most structured and probably least bursting-with-colors. It feels more like a writing tool than an attention grabber. The creator is an information designer who makes information dense graphics about the startup world.

Easily the most scientific of visualization tools, OmniGraffle is also pricey. There is a tree trial. It deals with complexity beautifully but don't expect any cute sprites in here.
