This is an audial and visual reading of the book, Smoky Night by Eve Bunting. I picked this resource because it has sound effects to go along with the reading, and the story gives a child’s perspective of the riots of Los Angeles in 1992.

This video is the author talking about the message she wanted to convey in her book. I picked it because it shows how while her book did address rioting, it also is about getting to no one someone before you make conclusions about them. It’s a good resource to help stem discussion on rioting that happened in the past and rioting that happens today.

This is a child safe resource that can give students a few brief statistics about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. I picked it to give students some context.
