Cosmopolitan Dubai is fast gaining prominence as the Middle East's centre for art. Events such Art Dubai has been instrumental in adding new life to the UAE's rich arts and culture scene.

Third Line

Third Line is loved as an exciting and refreshing venue for modern art in the Middle East. The gallery is a representative to over 30 artists which include Lamya Gragash and Ebtisam Abdulaziz from the Emirates. The aim of Third Line is to create awareness and interest in Arabic art, which certainly has fascinating roots that are promoted internationally. Regular displays of international art exhibitions have helped the gallery to spearhead its mission of promoting the vibrant attributes of Arabic culture across the globe.

Majilis Gallery

Located at Al Fahidi Street Majilis Gallery was setup in 1989. This is Dubai's oldest gallery for fine arts. The predominant displays there consist of paintings and sculptures turned out by international artists, inspired by the rugged environs and culture of the UAE. You can also browse through a beautiful collection of fine glassware, pottery and other crafts. The Al Fahidi district is prominent for its historic value and this gallery located within a vintage wind tower adds charm to the area; especially the huge henna tree growing lustrously in the middle of the traditional courtyard.

Green Art Gallery

The Green Art Gallery was a pioneer Arabic gallery to take part in the 'Art Basel 2012'. The place specialises in paintings, sculptures and photographic work of talented Middle Eastern artisans. Due to the galleries growing popularity the place has expanded its policies to include a vibrant roster of renowned international artists; such as Alessandro Balteo Yazbeck of Venezuela and Hungarian painter Zsolt Bodoni. The gallery is located at Al Serkal Avenue and within close proximity luxury resorts Dubai is home to; these well located abodes of Arabic luxury are in itself fine works of art and elegance. Fine examples are the PER AQUUM Hotels & Resorts located in Dubai.

The Jam Jar

The place is as interesting as its name; The Jam Jar is a community art studio. There's a DIY studio for exploring your creative talents as well as regular exhibits of international standards. Founded in 2005 this centre works towards the promotion of local artists and support for the local art scene. The year round exhibits cover a wide range of subjects and include visual art films, art forums, theatre and music. If you are looking for a chilled out space in Dubai to interact and indulge your creative sense the Jam Jar is the place to go.

The Dubai Museum

The Dubai Museum too is located within the historic Al Fahidi district. It is in fact housed within the fabulous Al Fahidi Fort and undoubtedly the best museum in Dubai. The place chronicles Dubai's journey through time as a fishing and pearling village to the UAE's most cosmopolitan commercial hub. Enjoy the exhibit on Bedouin culture, the mock souk and displays of archaeological findings.
