Scribble a mustache on a photo of a friend, and it does so much more. I will use this at the beginning of the year. Math In Action - Best Apps For Kids

Math In Action provides a hands-on approach to learning in an easy to use virtual environment that children and parents will love. Allows kids to practice adding and subtracting along with sorting and transforming. As a teacher I would use this when we are learning to add. I would probably allow the students who are done with their math homework to play the game. This way they are still doing things related to the lesson. Grade level: 1st grade and up.

Build A Ship With Kate and Harry - Best Apps For Kids

A perfect app for little ones that provides a safe and easy to use interface allowing children to use their imaginations to create the perfect ship for sailing. As a teacher I would use this when we are learning about pirates or read a book about ships. I might even allow them to play this game to identify shapes. Grade level: Kindergarten and up

Family Barn: Build your farm - Android Apps on Google Play

This app allows you to create a family farm with different animals, fruits, etc. As a teacher, I will use this when we are talking about animals and farms. I will relate this app to where our food comes from and how to eat healthy. Grade level: Kindergarten and up

BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week

This app is used to show the Movie of the Week, which spans subjects within Science, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Math, Health, Arts and Technology. The gentle, humorous, and relatable characters Annie and Moby serve as guides through each topic, empowering kids to form their own ideas. As a teacher I will use the BrainPOP Jr. content to cultivate critical thinking skills and encourage the students to ask questions and make connections. Grade level: K-3rd Grade

Book Creator for iPad - Book Creator app

This app is used to create your own iBooks, take pictures, upload drawings, add sound and video to it, style it the way you want, and share with friends, family, and teacher. They could make a book with this app and add their writings after writing a narrative. Grade level: K-4th Grade

Rainbow Sentences - App Review

Rainbow Sentences is an app that helps teach students how to construct a sentence. You can customize the experience and can increase independence for students who may have learning difficulties. Once you set up a profile, you can track your student's progress, and there are three levels of play and six levels of complexity. As a teacher I will change the settings to increase difficulty and understanding, so that the students can grasp grammatical concepts. Grade level: 2nd-5th Grade

Todo K-2 Math App is a series of 6 fun and engaging multi-level games that offer students practice and support in K through 2nd grade math fluency skills including: counting, writing numerals, addition and subtraction.
