Ground was broken Thursday on a very special baseball field in Las Vegas. The Miracle League and Opportunity Village are teaming up to build a brand new field for disabled children.
The entire field will be made of recycled rubber, which provides a flat surface that's easier for the kids to navigate than grass and dirt.
"It will bring a sense of community with families with brothers and sisters, with volunteers, with buddies helping these young people. It'll give them a sense of understanding that they're no different than us," said Tim McGarry, President of the Miracle League of Las Vegas.
The field is located along Rancho, near the First Christian Church. It should be ready for the first pitch to be thrown sometime in October.
