Shopping Centres in Phuket -A list of bargains for every type of shopper

While Phuket may be well known for its beaches and waves, there is plenty to buy for everyone looking for a bargain. Here is a list of shopping centres in Phuket where you can get a good deal.

1

Chandra

Located only 20 minutes away from Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, this is a glamorous boutique that is home to everything young and sophisticated in Phuket. You will encounter railings upon railings of trendy beach-club-chic dresses, kaftans, kimonos of the finest silk, glittering bikinis for girls. Boys will find their trendy desires met with the linen shirts, cotton trousers, and latest silk-blend waistcoats. The hues of Chandra gravitate towards minimalist naturals with random bursts of colour that is sure to captivate the shopper.

2

Ranida

One of the key tourist attractions in Phuket, Ranida is located down Thalang. Its attraction lies in its antique gallery, where antique Buddha statues and sculptures are available for purchase. In addition to a high-quality antique collection, Ranida also sells organic textiles and has a vintage line of women's clothing made of finest Thai garment.

3

Jung Ceylon

If you are having some time to explore and are not in a rush to grab something and head off, Jung Ceylon is a place to visit. It is a modern shopping centre that is, to use the common term, "cool" among its kind. Not only does the shopping centre house shops by international brands such as Apple, Starbucks, MNG and Adidas, but there are also comfortable cinemas and several massage parlours; ideal for a break in your day-long shopping spree. The food at Jung Ceylon is remarkable too, with a wing dedicated to international restaurants. But the main attraction of the shopping centre – in addition to the multitude of shops, of course – is outside: a musical fountain and several pools, in the middle of which stands a life-size model of a Chinese junk ship.

4

Baanboonpitak

If your taste runs a little on the antiqued area, and if you are one for hunting down a bargain for a "classical piece", Baanboonpitak is the place for you to visit. Hidden in the southern end of Patong, this haven of antique seekers is an easy-to-miss room that houses treasures. Ranging from teak sculptures to fine paintings to remarkable works of bronze, Bannboonpitak offers a range of items for the collector. Here you will also find massive drums made of buffalo-skin, royal dogs adorned with glittering jewels and wood carved elephants standing by antique teak furniture. If you wish to purchase something that is of a large size, the shop arranges shipping.

5

Baru

Tucked into West Patak, Baru is the place to go if you had forgotten to pack your beachwear or the cute crop top. Showcasing a brilliant collection of exotic prints on light fabric ideal for tropics, elegant dresses and bold bikinis are what has made Baru a favourite destination for the fashionistas. In addition to the ideal tropical wear, Baru also houses exotic accessories, ranging from sparkly earrings to leather bags – legacy of an island life where exoticism blends with fashion.
