Salalah is a fantastic place for beach lovers that bring hordes of tourists from far corners of the world to enjoy the sprawling coastline and its beaches with perfect climate for beach dwelling.

Mughsail Beach

Mughsail Beach

Mughsail Beach is one of the best beaches that can be found in Salalah with great waves and an incredible blowhole that erupts and blows water up to a height of a whopping 100 feet or more. The beach is known for its strong pattern of waves and also quite popular for its great rock shelf which makes strolling along the sandy beach while listening to the unending crashing sound of the waves quite a marvellous experience that you would treasure. The desert surrounds you over here providing some spectacular views of the white sandy beaches and distant rugged cliffs and mountains. Since it is quite a secluded patch that stretches for about 8 kilometres, it is ideal for water sports like surfing with a superb restaurant to cater to your food needs. It is also home to many breeds of migratory birds and perfect for bird watching plus camel watching in the mornings.

Rakhyut

Rakhyut

This is another fascinating peacefully secluded beach further west of Salalah and ideal for family picnicking fun times and for a relaxing swim in the ocean. Rakhyut beach is sought after by the surfers where the best times for fantastic surfing experiences would be between May and June or September to take advantage of the monsoon swells coming from the Indian Ocean. Since it is quite deserted over here at the beach for miles, you need to be aware of taking care of your safety when going out on surfing or engaging in any other water sports, especially if you are alone.

Among tours that are arranged on these yachts of various sizes and beautiful designs, are dolphin watching expeditions together with a lengthy voyage out in the ocean. Taqa Beach

Taqa Beach

Taqa Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches found in Salalah associated with the famous historical Taqa Castle (Taqah Fort). The pristine sandy beach is easily compared to any great tropical beaches in the world. Fascinating views are plenty here with the small cliff on the other end of Taqa Beach making it an excellent location for photo shoots due to its unique photogenic quality. Even though it is risky, walking to the top of the cliff and getting to have a mesmerising aerial view of the ocean below is a 'must do' while you are here. Taqa Beach is ideal for bird watching where it provides plenty of opportunity to view the flocks of birds that gather and fly from this picturesque location. The creeks on the beach provide stunning visuals while the grass that has grown on the sand creates a picture perfect look. The huts that are found at the beach are quite photogenic with a unique architectural style while providing shade and a relaxed place for loved ones and friends. Taqa Beach is also a friendly spot for children with a lovely playing area dedicated for them with colourful slides and rides.
