Doha, the busy capital city of Qatar is usually highlighted for its skyscrapers and crowded malls. However, nestled amidst the towering buildings are green parks that are perfect for jogging.
Aspire Park is located in Aspire Zone, Doha. Covering an area of 88 hectares it is Doha's biggest park and is a great place for families and individuals looking for a bit of quiet of time away from the busy city life. The park features water fountains and playgrounds which sit as a lovely contrast from the surrounding brown sandy landscapes. The walking and jogging track is great to keep one's fitness levels intact and is conveniently located to a shopping zone which makes the phrase 'kill two birds with one stone' a reality, as most people spend their weekends either in the malls or at this park. The park is also home to the only lake in Qatar with plenty of aquatic animals and a good café nearby. Take in the surroundings and enjoy the fading sounds of birds chirping – although played through the speakers, while you jog along the track.
The Museum of Islamic Art Park is located on Doha's waterfront and is a perfect place for jogging. Equipped with children's playgrounds and cafés, this park is seemingly one of the most popular ones. Large green open spaces are outlined by a jogging track and visitors are treated to unpolluted fresh air, as they make their way through the pathway. This park is open 24 hours every day which is convenient for the busy locals and tourists as they could finish their day's activities without a rush and then head over to the park to get their daily fitness routine under way. The park's close proximity to the corniche is ideal for visitors to check in to Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara after an exhausting day of exploring the city and jogging along MIA's pathways. Doha spa hotels ensure that guests receive the best array of spa treatments.
The park is closely located to Landmark Mall near Al Markhiya Street and is a family friendly park. Being a rather popular choice amongst locals, the park allows rollerskating, rollerblading, skateboarding, basketball, football, biking, and jogging. The jogging track bordered by green trees and flower paths serves as an oasis in this desert city.
This park is considered to be one of the oldest and larger parks in Qatar, covering around 24 hectares, features an aviary, waterfall, miniature golf course, playground, basketball courts, skating areas, a museum and a battery operated train which can carry about 36 passengers. The park's jogging track is surrounded by well-manicured lawns.
A quiet park away from the busy city life of Doha, Al Wakrah is popular among the locals who bring their families – mostly kids, to enjoy the parks amenities and large open spaces, which are ideal for jogging and walking. Many visitors to the park are often seen zooming past on the paved pathways as they try to burn out the calories from the last meal they indulged in.
